I suspect my minor victory in getting "GUID" replaced by "persistent identifiers" was a triumph of timing, as everybody was pretty much exhausted and would do anything to shut me up (and eat cake). Despite this, I predict that the term "GUID" may have greater stickability than "persistent identifier".
