He is a botanist working on Gingers (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zingiberaceae\">Zingiberaceae<\/a>). He came into the office to ask for something and I asked in return if I could come up to his office and take his photo. The herbarium offices have big windows with blinds which gives great opportunity for messing with lighting. This is the first I have done with the subject&#8217;s back to the light. Mark is smiling &#8211; which I don&#8217;t like in these portraits but this works best out of the half dozen I took.
