I&#8217;ll be 50 in less that two months so perhaps it is my perpetual mid life crisis.<\/p>\n<p>This is a selfie with my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fujifilm.eu\/uk\/products\/digital-cameras\/interchangeable-lens-cameras\/model\/x-m1\/\">Fujifilm X-M1<\/a> and nifty <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fujifilm.eu\/uk\/products\/digital-cameras\/fujinon-x-mount-lenses\/model\/fujinon-xf27mmf28\/\">XF27mm f2.8<\/a> pancake lens @ f2.8 using the paper ball lampshade as a light source. It successfully diminishes my jowls. Below is my daughter using the same light source but further away. This is with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fujifilm.eu\/uk\/products\/digital-cameras\/fujinon-x-mount-lenses\/model\/fujinon-xf35mmf14-r\/\">XF35mm f1.4<\/a> @ f1.4 and an ISO of 2,500 on my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fujifilm.eu\/uk\/products\/digital-cameras\/interchangeable-lens-cameras\/model\/x-pro1\/\">X-Pro 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyam.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSCF2856.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2615\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hyam.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSCF2856-426x640.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF2856\" width=\"426\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hyam.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSCF2856-426x640.jpg 426w, https:\/\/www.hyam.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/DSCF2856.jpg 682w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><\/a> I&#8217;m vacillating on whether to breath new life into this blog or kill it completely. I like the idea of keeping a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gratitude_journal\">gratitude journal <\/a>of some kind. Looking at these images I&#8217;m grateful for great optics.
